2023 Stanley Cup Champion and Original Golden Knight Earns Prestigious Award

Marchessault Leads Vegas to First Franchise Championship

Jonathan Marchessault, one of the six remaining original Vegas Golden Knights, has been awarded the Conn Smythe Trophy as the most valuable player of the 2023 NHL playoffs. With 25 points (13 goals, 12 assists) in the playoffs, Marchessault finished second only to teammate Jack Eichel. His outstanding performance helped propel the Golden Knights to their first-ever Stanley Cup championship, defeating the Florida Panthers in five games.

"It's an incredible honor to win the Conn Smythe Trophy," said Marchessault. "I couldn't have done it without my teammates, coaches, and the support of our amazing fans. This is a dream come true for all of us."

Marchessault has been a key contributor to the Golden Knights' success since their inaugural season in 2017-18. The 31-year-old forward has recorded 217 goals and 236 assists in 450 career regular season games with Vegas. He has also been a consistent performer in the playoffs, with 43 goals and 41 assists in 76 career playoff games.

The Conn Smythe Trophy is awarded annually to the player who is judged to be the most valuable to his team during the playoffs. Marchessault's outstanding performance throughout the postseason, including his game-winning goal in Game 5 of the Stanley Cup Final, made him a clear choice for this prestigious award.
